wanting to buy a 2002 sport

I am looking at buying a 2002 4runner Sport with 180,000 miles. I have been looking for a good deal and came across this one. I could pick it up for $6300 but the Check Engine Light is on with the P0420 code. The seller took it in to the dealership checked out the O2 sensors and assures me that it is the catalytic converter.

Does this sound like a good buy in that I could replace the Cat with a magnaflow for hopefully under $200?

Also, the seller told me the CEL light came on after hitting a major washboard in the road. Am I looking at buying a runner with potential problems, or is this the basic troubleshoot between the Cat and 02 sensors?

Also, a little off topic for this forum, but do 4runners have big problems with the Cat's continually going out? Other than theft? : (

The seller did not decide to sell the runner.

And for those interested...

I was advised by a pm that this was still a bit high unless all the maintenance was done including cv's/gaskets/oil change even in transfer case/tbelt/etc...
