Trading for an 82 - Need advice

Sorry guys back again. Still hunting for a toyota truck. If you can tell by now ive had a few lost causes but this one is promising so far.

Its an 82, completely bedlined on the outside, front bull bar. 7-9'' of lift on 35'' tires. 4-6'' suspension lift and about a 3'' lift.

Needs front driver side flex brake line (its plugged right now?). Axles are lock-rite? in them and geared at 4.88.

PO went absolutely toggle crazy. Toggle for blinkers, headlights, eletric fan more? . Kill switch for coil.

New carpet on the inside, rebuilt carb. New guages waiting to be installed. new shift boots.

Says body lift prevents transmission from staying in first gear, so you have to phyiscally hold it to keep it in first.

new K&N filter, complete tune up, exhaust leak, and a little fender trimming.

He wants to trade for my 1990 Cherokee. Needs front driveline and transfercase linkage. Needs new rims, tires, lug nuts, shocks, ignition, PS steering up fixed and im sure other things I cant think of.

TRuck

I"m not buying the "body lift makes it pop out of first" line.

Peel up the new carpet, and take a look...

All the toggles could mean chasing down a lot of electrical gremlins in the future if the PO did a hack job on the wiring.

I'd keep the Cherokee, because you already know everything that's wrong with it.

well, Wiring for me personally is not a big deal because its cheap. May be time consuming, but its still cheap.

I personally have been in the jeep thing for a while, still own a wrangler, but want a yota.

So if you arent buying that body lift line, then what other things could I be looking at? TO bearing? shift forks?

same thing happened with my 81 2wd, had a 2inch body lift and wouldnt stay in 5th for the life of it, the body lift requires a shifter extension of some sort and i believe that may have been the problem. maybe this one doesnt have it either?
