Trade my Jeep for this Toyota

Whats up guys, when I was 17 I went out and bought a 4x4 97 tacoma 3.4 single cab with only 74k miles. I was just getting into off roading and doing a lot of reading, I was new to the game and read the solid differential is the only way to go for off roading. so I decided to sell it (huge regret now), I only paid $4,500 for it and I sold it for $5,500. I then bought a Jeep Wrangler because it thought the solid differential was the coolest thing ever.

Anyways, I'm 21 now and I have a 98 wrangler with a few goodies on/in it. But I still miss my first true love ( Toyotas ). I've read ever since I was 17 all about Toyotas and Jeeps and such so I'm no rookie to either. But I was browsing Yotas on craigslist the other day and I ran across a guy looking to trade his for a 98+ wrangler.

So I pretty much wanna know, what do you think this truck is worth?

Worth trading for?

Or should I hold out and wait for a better one.

Also, what all would it take to get a bed back on it?

I think you need to keep looking. A bed will not just go back on that. That is a purpose built rig.

i could say you would belucky to get a tire and wheel of that truck for what you sold a Tacoma for.

Not allowed to say the j word in polite company.

It just depends on how you describe hard .

To me getting a regular bed on that truck for sale the hard part would be getting the bed.

extend the frame back to where it should be mount some bed mounting brackets.

Install and wire the lights.

Most likely need a fuel filler neck other odds and ends.

I did not look that close!!

It depends to me not really needing a Truck but I think $8,000.00 is way to much money.

Then if you can`t do work like that or have no place it comes down to how bad do you want a truck like that.

Wanting to put a regular or Flatbed back on keep looking.

Just what do you want a pick up for??

Just sell your Wrangler and buy a Tacoma when a good one comes up. This one is someone else's off road child, and I wouldn't want to dive into it's nuances. Good luck with the search!

I don't necessarily need a bed, was just curious on installing one. I don't really have the want for a Tacoma anymore either, I like the tacos but I'd rather stick with an older solid axle one. I could SAS a Tacoma but I don't wanna start with a vehicle of such high price. I can fab up most anything, I was just curious what all people did when they made a flatty that would make a bed harder to install. I've been emailing with the guy back and forth a bit and he sent me some pictures, it appears to have dual cases and not twin sticks. The guy didn't build it himself.

I have welders, plasma cutters, tubing bender, tubing notcher,

I don't know what all my J*** is worth, some where around 6500-7000.

It has all the goodies on it but it has a salvaged title which everyone is afraid of.

I'm also is having the transmission rebuilt in my J***, sunk it in a water hole. So if I trade he'd be getting a brand ass new transmission.

Also, a picture of my stuck heep for you guys to laugh at.

It was actually fairly shallow at first, I was just thinking "I'ma just dip in and get my toes wet, if it starts getting deep I'll back out" then I feel into a sink hole out there, and that was that. I had to have my brother bring my dads tahoe with a 12k pound winch to get me out. As I waited for him to arrive, it started sinking slowly into the muck. I started smelling trans fluid and knew I was boned.

edit: It was also mid December here in cali, so the water was 40ish degrees.

I guess it's also leaking oil from the top of the timing cover, that blows.

So that's a no then from everyone?

edit: Sorry it was in the wrong section, didn't know where else to post it. Now I know.
