I found a 97 5 speed that had been wrecked. I want the seats and might snag the hatch and A/C compressor off of it. It took a hard hit in the front right but the seller says it still runs fine. It's a 97 SR5 5 speed with 200k. What should I offer the guy and what should I ask for either just a 5speed swap or the motor and tranny together. I got room in the garage while I take it apart and a roommate that owes me that I can make help me.

Right now everythings a 4x4 or 6x6. MRAPs, 916s, HMMWV, FMTVs and anything else with amror.

I am presuming it is the V6 4x4 but if it is 4 cyl and 2 wd that makes it worth a lot less part out wise.

As a rebuild most people would not pay much more than $2K.

If you truly want to make any cash above that on the part out, note that it is not a Limited, has the earlier version dash and jiggly cupholders/ headlights and none of the stuff coveted on the 99+ models.

Kind of all depends.....you see how folks need tail lenses and roof racks and so on. Just a matter of how much time you have for this kind of thing.

Proximity to the right major metropolitan areas could help a lot....
