Tall drivers fit in regular cabs?

Hi All, I'm looking for a little advice. I'm 6ft 5 and I'm looking to get back into a yota truck. When the '87's were new I worked on a farm and drove them with no issues other than i remember the space being just a little tight. I have always loved the design of the 79-83 series and 84-88 models, and I like the proportions of the regular cab - will i have a better experience with one model over the other? should I only think about an 84+ xtra cab?

I'm not going to be spending hours and hours in the truck, this is going to be a fun hobby vehicle.

I appreciate your help!

Well, the 79-83's are smaller. It really comes down to sitting in one and finding out for yourself. Everybody's idea of "comfortable" is different

Thanks for the help - I do remember the 87 as a little tight, but time has blurred, and the trucks really appeal! i'll have to see what I can find to try out here in Austin..

dang at 6' I find the 88 model to be a little tight. Maybe its just I'm used to having a steering column that collapses and tilts and 3 feet of head space in an IH OTR truck.

How about the newer models? Especially 96+ 4runners?

I'm 6'3 with a 91' standard cab. I find a way to get comfortable, but I'd seriously suggest an extended cab for someone 6'5.
