"how much would you pay" 1989 toyota pickup 4x4
looking for a daily driver...im not in a rush to buy one, so i put an ad in craigslist stating i want to buy, a 1989 toyota pickup xtra cab, 22r or 22re, 5 speed, manual windows and manual locks, and long bed, and only that.
i know thats awfully picky of me, but im looking to actually SPEND money on this one (you know, rather then $300...or FREE ), so i figured since im not in a rush, i'll just keep my eyes and ears open and wait for the right one...
So anyway, i got an email back for a 1989 toyota pickup, regular cab, and short bed, rust free frame, and little rust on the body. 4x4, 5spd. and only 81k original miles. still awaiting more info (engine type, overall condition, if it runs, etc.). i'll keep you guys posted. let me know what you would pay for this truck, or what you think it might be worth.
i may or may not pass on this deal, really depends on what it looks like in person. Thanks for the help!! i dont want to overpay...actually i'd rather under-pay because its not 100% what im looking for.

but thanks for pointing that out, i never knew that, and i just did a quick search and confirmed it. i guess all those "long beds" i actually saw were shortbeds

and im with nightstalker on this one. i'd rather just wait alittle bit and find the right one, rather then blow my budget on something i may not be happy with.
anyway, the guy says its the 4cyl, but he doesnt now if its a 22re or 22r. he also says theres no a/c. he's asking $4200, wich is a bit high considering its not exactly what im looking for, but i still may check it out and see what i think.

I thought you could only get a fuel injected 3rd gen...
I paid 3500 for mine in excellent condition...89 reg cab short bed, 5spd 22re. Power everything... Hand power.
+1 for waiting it out for what you really want. Why settle? However as stated before, don't wait for a 3rd gen xcab longbed.

LOL yeah i think i'll be waiting an awfully long time
i figured i'd look into this guys regular cab just to see if i could get a good deal. the only reason i want the xtra cab it because i think it looks better. im only 5'7 so theres no space problem here.
and by the way, i'd actually prefer manual windows, locks etc. (well, now i do. i'll wait to see what i think when im an old man) because power stuff takes 3x longer then manual.
i have a prostetic left leg, so sometimes i have to move the seat back to get in and out of some cars or trucks, and with power you sit there holding a switch, while manual you just pull the lever and you're all the way back in a matter of seconds. and not to mention all the gremlins that come with power seats and windows.
but anyway, i think im just going to wait around for the right truck to come along, im not in a rush to get one, so i might as well wait and see.
if i'm going to spend a decent amount of $$ i expect to get what i want.

x2 on the windows being lower then the door windows.
it bothers me too that the back window of my dads ranger is lower then the windows on the side of his truck haha
