gimme a ballpark price

I have 184,000 miles on a 1999 4runner limited.

1 owner..me. One service place, the dealer. mobil 1 only.
It is on it's [3rd timing belt and all fluids maintenance] and all new brakes.

no codes, passes inspection

mechanically it is 184,000 mile 4runner daily driver.

everything works, antenna, stereo, automagic AC, security system, power everything, all good.
--------
cosmetically, it is worn out.

it was rolled over very slowly into bushes in 1999. new roof, doors, hood, fenders, and in 2009 that auto-shop paint job is failing, peeling, generally looks like garbage. so she is not a looker and I do not wash it. exterior=garbage

it has a FAT dent (slid into a snowplow backward) in the rear liftgate, but the window, defog, and wiper all work fine. it only looks like crud.

the skid plates HAVE been used a lot, but on very slow creeping up tote roads, so they aren't caved in, but they have been used a lot.

internally, I haul dirty mountain bikes and don't wash it, so again, cosmetically, it is crap.

leather seats, worn the hell out

no running boards, they no good offroad, stock otherwise.
---------------

So, given this: 184,000 miles, dealer serviced always, running terrific
(19-22mpg on highway, no drips, codes, smells, new a/f and o2 sensor, new muffler and pipe,)

and it is a 1999 4runner limited, loaded

looks like crap though. needs paint and dent work, and internal cleaning

----
what would this be worth, ya think ?

I do not know if I am gonna sell it, but I am buying an econobox for daily drive activities (Yaris 5drHB) and will keep this for when it snows, but I could also get rid of the 4runner.

someone could part this out, or have a perfect 5vz mobil 1 engine and all electronics...because this is an ultra reliable rig I have here. it really is sweet and I don't know of anything wrong with it besides the looks.

anyhow, chime in if you know what a drivable, inspectable, dealer maintained 1999 with locker, don't forget the locker and AWD modes (which all work sweet) would go for in ugly dollars

That's tough. Most people here are going to appreciate a mechanically sound vehicle (with a good maintainence record) and put a little more value to that, but then there's also those who base their assumptions solely on looks.

Yea I agree with Okie, telling someone the car runs great and has been maintained well and then they see the outside condition....? Well I would have my suspicions. Just because of the outside abuse, you will need to find someone who knows toyotas and can look past the poor outside condition and sees the beauty of a well maintained truck.

If I was you, I would take it in and spend $200 on a good detail cleaning. Make it look as nice as possible.

Ballpark...$6-8K

ditto,
you may spend $200 dollars on a detailing, but in the end you may make more off of the vehicles its self.

most decent ones around here seem to be about $7K

I agree. You also have to consider folks that might need to get a loan if asking 6-8k. I assume the title is rebuilt which would make a loan next to impossible to do. Lots of 1999-2000 Limited 4runners with rear lockers out there for 7k that don't have the cosmetic issues. Just my 2 cents.
