94 truck in need of motor for $500- good buy?

http://burlington.craigslist.org/cto/1377352991.html

I drove this around the guys yard today. Needs a U joint and once its warm it runs rough and will stall if you dont keep on the gas. Frame is tender in a couple spots. Body is great for VT. Whole truck is pretty nice, front end seems fine. 170k on it.

He said he'll take 400. All I need is a truck to dump on the other side of the lake and drive 5 mi to work so I can walk on the ferry and save $15/day.

With a bad valve though it seems like it'd be easier to swap the motor, there are plenty of 22re's around.

What do you all think???????????????

$400, no electrical issues, all glass is there, decent tires, brakes, exhaust, radiator?? then yes, it's a good deal. nice find! drive that motor til it pukes and swap out the head. heck man, you can throw in some marvel mystery oil and not even deal with taking off the valve cover for a year at least!
