1994 Truck - Fenders/Hood/Front Clip

I'd like opinions on this truck. I'm looking at buying it but as you can tell, the front end needs some work. I've been told that there isn't any frame damage and that it only needs fenders, front bumper, lights and other misc. parts that are missing.

My questions are - has anyone installed fenders on this year truck and if so - how much of a pain was it? I have some experience with replacing fenders and other body parts but it mostly was on domestic trucks (friends vintage Blazer and Pickup).

Also, I'm hoping to see this thing in person to try to detect whether it has any noticeable damage. A couple of friends have looked at the pictures and some believe they see something that doesn't look right on the right hand side (bent, etc.).

What do you think? It looks to be a decent deal if it doesn't require any major frame work. I think a CarFax is in order too..

thanks for your opinions!

I took my fenders off yesterday to align the doors, it took about 3 mins. Very easy!

it looks hit, but I suggest you go and take some much more close up pictures of this thing and run the vin on carfax to see what the deal with it is. Get some good pics of the front from any and all angles you can, special care to the frame. Look for spankin' new parts up front, weld beads, and anything otherwise fishy or recently worked on. Post all that stuff, and maybe we can begin to help you out, I cant tell much at all from those shots other than it may well be banged up but good. I suggest using photobucket for the photos so you can upload shots at higher resolution.

Looks like an excellent candidate for a hannemann fiberglass tundra front clip conversion, by the way:

Radiator support is bent back a little near the bottom. Looks like the bumper got pushed in some. Looks like a little pulling and some new parts could be a nice truck. Just cross measure the apron to make sure it's hasn't been diamond.

I have the stripes when you get around to painting it.

Maybe it is just me but it looks like his lower arms are in a negative degree to the frame thingy lol.You can see where he hit something on the front right side.

I agree with that right front corner hit comment the rad support is pushed in a little, check it (whole truck) carefully otherwise it it looks not bad. The sheet metal goes on fairly easily and can be sourced from an aftermarket supplier at almost any good body shop wholesaler at a very reasonable price. Plastic grill parts are also available from the same source.

I went a took a closer look. The price is a little high for me considering the amount of work it needs. The body shop that looked at it says they (they did an estimate a few months ago on it) see about $4k worth of work due to the amount of straightening and body work needed. Their estimate includes paint but doesn't include any blending so it won't look that great. The truck has been mudding pretty hard and they haven't tried to hide it (clumps of mud on the x-members and other obvious signs of some serious 4wheelin).

I think I'll pass on this one.

I appreciate everyones comments.

If any of you are interested - it is in Virginia and the guy is asking $2000 firm and I can pass on the contact info.

If it's been torqued to the point it needs straightening and been abused by hard off roading then giving it a pass is your smartest bet. Other trucks in better condition will show up.

Yep... that is what I figured.

I've been looking for a long time though. I shouldn't surprised since my 4Runner last year went within a few days.... a good used Toyota is hard to find!
