1985 crawler Project, Good deal or am i crazy

So my uncle owns a twing company and i was strolling through his salvage yard and came across this gem. It has been in his yard so long that the state has awarded it to him. It now has a clean title. I asked him how much he wanted for the rig and he said today and today only $300 cash. So i went and bought it. It has 37 in super swamps so i figured the tires alone are worth way more than that. Is this a good deal or am i just nuts?[IMG][/IMG]

I'd say for $300 you couldn't really go wrong. I grew up outside of Hudson, my parents still live there.

It runs!!!!!!!!!!! But not too well. It sounds like it is cutting out like its starving for fuel or something. If i play with the throttle and rev it up a little it runs a little stronger. I thought it was just bad fuel but i added five gallons to the tank and no change. But it may be because i didnt drain the tank. Tomorrow im going to drain the tank and change the plugs. Its a 22re. Any suggestions?

Drain the tank first and foremost. who knows what you're pushing into the injectors or cylinders.....

new plugs.... wires aren't so critical unless they are visibly worn.
