no motorized vehicles are allowed in "Wilderness Areas" unless there is a road through them, and you have to stay on the road.
Key word: Motorized. no mopeds, no ATV's, no cracked out bicycles with the chainsaw motor, no scooters etc... Equine, canine and human powered transport is ok

The Wilderness Act also prohibits "mechanical transport", not just motorized. So no bicycles either.
But your horse is free to tear the daylights out of the landscape.

You can find solitude without it being "Wilderness" a name the "Wacko left" have come up with to usurp the Constitution and close public lands for bad science and to appease the wackos who vote them in time and time again! What is Wilderness and how does driving on a trail that has been there for a hundred years do harm? How does saving something that is in constant change do anything but keep "Free people" from enjoying a family activity more important than some microbe or a ditch! We have let them set the debate and that's just wrong! People first! Wilderness in Southern Cal is a joke! With the I-10 one of the busiest Freeways in the country and Jet planes flying less than five miles above your head, how can this be Wilderness? So lets stop trying to live by their rules and if you get e ticket for doing something in a free country on public land's fight! Tie up the Courts! Let the judges hear from us! When they have to put off big Drug trials for someone being on a trail in wilderness area then maybe they will know they have woke the sleeping giant!
