Hey guys and gals, if there are any. Just picked up a brand new 08 FJ this past weekend. I have never owned a Yota in my life but I have owned 4 Isuzus, 1 GMC, and 3 Subarus. Just traded in a mildly modified Subaru Forester XT to get this awesome fj. I love it. My fj is 4x4 with an auto tranny in sunfusion yellow. It came with the 16" TRD wheels and 265/75/16 BFG tires. Other than the wheels the only options was the convenience package. I am looking to do the a trac switch if that still works with the 08 model. Any of you guys recommend any first mods? Right now I am thinking tint on the door windows for one. I was also thinking about the Toyota hitch vs aftermarket. Maybe a light bar for my 2 sets of Hellas. Had them on my Forester. Is the top of the bumper rigid enough for a set of lights such as the Hella FF1000? Anyone mounted these to their bumper? Other than that I just want to drive and enjoy my FJ before making any bigger changes.

Congrats on the new truck!
To answer a few of your questions....you already have great wheels & tires, so you're good to go for 'essential' mods. Maybe rails and/or sliders if you can afford them & if you'll be doing much trail driving.

I've seen people mod brackets to add lights to the front, but I'm not sure about mounting them directly to the bumper. The A-Trac switch should work as long as you have the rear locker.

Other than that you should be good to go find some trails!
