Anyone ever try just a straight pipe exhaust?

First off "Hi!"

Thanks for all the great info! This site has been a big help after the purchase of my FJ last October.

Second, I have searched around including here and I can't seem to find anything about anyone replacing the muffler with just a piece of straight pipe. I'm thinking about doing it, but I wanted to know what the experts thought about it.

I've done it on a couple other rigs including one that was turbo'd and as long as the cats were still in place, they all had a very pleasent sound. Not as loud as you'd think.

Any videos/sound clips? Opinions, thoughts...

Thanks!

Rick
