Well, my question is, can you afford NOT to get one?
And anyways, if you're buying new...what the heck does 2.1% additional cost matter? If it does, I'd say don't buy the truck. :-)

Or get one used with 10,000 miles on it for thousands less.

did they fix the issue with the crumple zones on the inner fender?
 that could be worth 500$

As far as I know, they haven't had the fender bulge issue since the late '06 productions. All new FJ's should be OK there.
