TRD Thermostat p/n

Does anyone have the p/n of the TRD 160 degree thermostat for the 3.4? I have a 97 T100 5 speed if that makes a difference.

According to the TRD 2008-2009 catalog...the part number fer the TRD thermostat is PTR26-89041. They show that fer the 1996-2002 4Runner and the 1996-2004 Tacoma...which had the 3.4L 5vzfe engine. It didn't say what the temperature rating was. Fer 160°F it should read 71°C.

Looking up that part number on ToyotaPartSales.com this is what I came up with...

OEM Catalog
Item Number MSRP Core Price Price
PTR2689041 $139.87 $0.00 $100.91

TRD 34L 18L THERMOST

I also found this TRD part number fer the 3.4L 5vzfe: PTR013505001/PTR0435050
*Part number PTR013505001 was superseded by part number PTR0435050.

OEM Catalog
Item Number MSRP Core Price Price
PTR0435050 $76.00 $0.00 $68.40

3.4&1.8 TMERMOSTAT

AutoZone has the 170°F thermostat as well as NAPAonline.com. Only about $12.

Part Number: 4077
Weight: 0.192 lbs
Application: Alternate temperatures
Notes: 170 degrees

You must be referring to the TRD Sport Thermostat (16340-SP010)?

The $130 price is MSRP (manufacturer suggested retail price)...you can git it fer about $100.

I would go with the old part number...it's a whole lot cheaper at $68!

For an extra 50 bucks, you get the TRD logo on the thermostat and that adds at least 20 hp to your motor. I would go with a 12 buck version from napa auto, no reason for an OEM thermostat, considering there is really nothing to them other than a spring!
