Stupid question: gas tank size
So I have, as the sig notes, a '96 T100 SR5 extended cab 4x4 w/ automatic transmission.
What little information I have found indicates it should have a 24 gallon gas tank, but the last 3 months of driving it are indicating that either this is not the case, or I do not have the most accurate of gas gauges. (I think the most gas I've ever put in the beast was about 17-18 gallons.)
Mostly I'm just curious as to if anyone knows the tank size from actual experience? (or if the gas gauge on the T100s are as notoriously inaccurate as the oil gauges >.>)

All the stock T-100 models have a 24 gallon tank. The most I've ever been able to squeeze out before actually running out of gas was 22.3 gallons. I was still able to start it after wiggling my butt and nurse it about a quarter mile to the gas station. I'm sure I didn't do any favors to the fuel pump but I really didn't have a choice. My low fuel light comes on about 20 gallons on my 1998 T-100 SR5 2WD extended cab.

If it's really bugging you that bad...you can drop the tank or pull the bed and pull the sender out and readjust it. It will take some trial and error to git it just right though.
Or you could just replace the sender with a new one.
BTW...are there any dents on the tank itself? It could alter the max amount of gas you can put in there...
