My 97 T100 Build Big and Low!

Beggining a new chapter in my builds. My 97 T100 has been replaced by a 01 Tundra for work duty. The T served me very well for 8 years and I put on over 200,000 miles on her, all miles were with an estimated 1200 to 1300 lbs in the bed. Only problem I ever had was rear axle bearings, wonder why?(duh!)

This truck replaces my 92 short bed reg cab that I built and then sold. I have 4 kids, so the standard cab was a little impractical. The 92 was built with little lift and lots of trimming to fit 35's. IFS held up as well as you could want. Idler arm was weakest link. Being locked front and rear with an auto trans helped alot. I wheeled it hard all over Paragon before it closed and it never let me down. I miss it already.

The T will get bj spacers, Sway Away t bars, and a 1 inch RB body lift. Rear spring will be a hybrid pack to match front and stay soft and flexy. A bed bob is in order as well as some half doors. All the other important things like lights and CB will follow.

First score on Craigslist was a set of BFG Mud 315's

On to the pics! Will post as often as possible!

Tundra with cap. FYI T100 to Tundra cap swap is ok for 1st gen Tundra, they change after that.

Pics to follow soon

Front is done. Mounted the tires on the rims myself. Not hard at all. Used the HighLift Jack to break the beads, then two large prybars and a lot of soapy water. Made it much easier to paint the rims. Used medium and fine Scotchbrite RolLocs to sand the wheels. Came out sweet! Two coats of self etching primer then two coats of Krylon silver. Pictures to show where I trimmed and pounded seams to fit tires. Front valance was trimmed a bit, bumper may need to be trimmed as well. I am waiting till the body lift goes on to see.

Added three Hella 500's to the bumper. Told ya this build would be similar to my Red 92.

Need shocks and then an alignment. Did the driveway basics but tires are not balanced so I will have the shop do both for me.
