What are your thoughts on my next move?

We had a big snow storm yesterday and I was out playing in the snow and the truck just died in the middle of the road.

It has been running well starting every time no issues mechanically. Recently I have replaced

spark plugs
wires
coils
fuel filter
fuel pump
all fluids
oil filter

I have a remote starter and I have been using it to warm up the truck on cold days in the morning when I'm at my girls or before I head home after work, no issues starting.

What I have done: 1st easy things first

out of gas? gas gauge says 1/2 tank but it does not go down to zero when the key is off. It stays at 1/2 tank. So I thought maybe the gas gauage froze and its out of gas, so I put 5 gallons in with 2 bottles of heet.

Battery is new, hooked it to another car while trying to start so it wouldn't wear down

All electrical is working normally

Sprayed starting fluid into the intake, it fired over but but did not stay running. I sprayed a little too much starting fluid and it caught fire, had to put it out with snow...YIKES!!!

Belts, while needing replacement for maintenance schedule, are not compromised in any way


it seems like it's not getting fuel. The fuel pump is only 6 months old, maybe its clogged. Maybe it went out?

Same with the fuel filter both were changed at the same time.

The gas tank had gunk in the bottom maybe something got loose and clogged things up?? I banged on the bottom of the tank and rattled the fuel filter to see if that would set anything free, ice crystals, gunk, whatever but nothing happened. I have a new tank and was going to swap them out but haven't yet. I guess its time just to be sure.

Any Ideas?

Just to recap, the truck has been starting and driving great.
Nothing like working on your truck in a parking lot in 15 degree weather!! I think my next steps will be to pull the bed back, check the fuel pump and change out the fuel filter.

Does anything happen when you turn the key? (click, turn over)? or is it completely? dead

It turns over fine, everything seems to operate correctly but it does not fire up.

Is there a fuel pump cut off switch? Where is the fuel pump fuse? I'm Googling its location now.

It may be the fuel pump relay? Just found it on Youtube, it would be great if it is this simple
