HELP brakes pulsing
1997 T100 3.4 auto 4x4 xcab
New rotors, drums, pads and shoes, new upper Ball Joints, new drag link and pitman arm, tie rod ends good, no slack in steering box-any movement input to steering wheel results in movement of tires.
When braking I get a pulsing and shimmy as if rotors or drums are horribly warped. This transfers into steering wheel. Truck is non-ABS so no weird abs stuff happening. Rolling up to a stop sign slow and easy barely on brakes truck pulses or rocks like pumping the brakes rhythmically, stopping from hwy speeds much more pronounced and almost violent. Did this before new rotors drums and steering components replaced. Progressively getting worse.
PLEASE if anyone has ideas of where to go next or what to check/replace help me out!

It has Toytec BJSpacers add a leaf in back. Did not rebuild or replace calipers, just pads/shoes. Tire wear was an issue, running 265/75/16 Falken Rocky Mountains on 16x8.5 wheels with 1" less backspace than original backspace so no spacers in-between hub/drum and wheel. Tire wear issue led to alignment and replacement of ball joints, drag link and pitman arm. I have bled each corner and the Load Sensing Valve arm has been raised 2" to compensate for lift.

i have this happen to my car and truck all the time after i brake real hard and put a lot of heat in the brakes. i reverse this by braking real light and easy for a while.
it works for me anyway.

Brand of pads/rotors? Cheap rotors and drums will do this. Ive seen brand new stuff warped right out of the box.
It is also possible the calipers/rear wheel cylinders are dragging causing issues. Jack up the front and rear, put in neutral and spin them. Should spin by hand easy-if not replace.

IMHO I would have them machined with the hubs on.

So, after many hours with my T100 on a lift, we machined the new rotors on hubs and installed new pads, machined the new drums, had 2 master toyota techs helping me double and triple check all suspension and steering components-tie rod ends-ball joints- pitman arm-drag link- a arm bushings- wheel bearings- serviced front hubs while in them- cross directional tire rotation- front end alignment done to where Toytec said to set it with their BJ spacers- and buttoned it up for test drive. It seemed a better but still had a shimmy and shake while stopping and seemed loose and have lots of feed back to steering wheel over bumps and rough pavement. So I remembered that through all of this we did not pull steering stabilizer and inspect due to it being replaced only about six months ago (factory replacement from dealer). It had about 1.5 inches of play in it. Took it to dealer and they warrantee replaced it on the spot. Installed it and now it is much much much better!!! Wow!!! A $35 part may have been the issue the whole time. I was loosing my kind as to what going on. Thank god we found the problem. With everything we did it drives like new and should be good for a long time.
