2007 4-Runner: Today I used a flatbed trailer and after some time the stereo started cutting out for about 1-2 seconds then did this repeatedly about every 1-2 minutes. After removing the trailer this continued, but I noticed later when I got home that all the dash lights and stereo cut out when I pushed the brake pedal down. I'm thinking something in the trailer light wiring got out of whack while using it, which is now affecting other electrical. Not sure why this would happen since it's all factory prewired and just had to plug an adapter in to plug the four prong trailer wiring into that. Any insight greatly appreciated.

Is it just the dash lights of which the stereo is part or all the tail lights??

The stereo powers down completely and then powers back up??

Having never seen a 2007 does this use more circuit breakers then the older models??

You have removed your adapter plug and still have the problem?

When the stereo was cutting out, it was just the sound, display was still there(factory stereo). When the brake thing started happening, it was the whole dash. I may have not noticed if it was doing this while driving until I got in the garage and the sensor kicked the dash lights on. Yes, the adapter plug is out.

After driving my son to school today, the dash/brake pedal thing was not happening anymore, but the radio started cutting out after a few minutes of driving. I think I'm going to disconnect battery for 15 minutes and try that. Seems to reset things.

Have you tried it with a CD ? Maybe a signal problem from the antenna ??

Dead air from the station you had dialed in??
