Rusted out battery box need Ideas on how to replace or fix!
hey all, So on my 89 pickup my battery box is pretty toast. the owner before me must have had a bad battery in the truck because the battery box it damn near completely rusted out. not even a stock battery will fit properly, so i have jimmy rigged it up. any ideas on what i might do to repair or replace it short of buying a whole new inner fender well? if you would like pictures let me know! thanks!

If you don't have access to a welder you can use rivets or sheet metal screws to attach some new metal. Cut out the rusty area and treat the area with rust proofer. You can cut a piece of steel from a junkyard vehicle or buy a small sheet of steel from Home Depot. It's pretty cheap. I've also seen someone use an old cookie sheet cut to fit. The battery will hide it anyway.

ok thanks man. I ended up going to a junk yard and finding a good inner fender well from an 87 toyota, with its original battery box intact. im gonna cut and weld that up to my truck. ill post some pictures when im finished to help others.
