Rear Window Control

So, When it comes to my 94's rear window control in the center console, i have to turn the key to the starter position (aka one click past the acc) to be able to roll the rear window up and down.

My question is,

has anyone just done something like wired it to a constant hot so you can always roll it up and down?

Here is what I did in my 1st gen:

Basically tied the key and console switches together so that either work with the key off.

i bypassed everything cause my 90 4runner has a 96 tacoma wiring harness in it.
the rear window motor has 2 wires, to go up, send one 12 volts and ground the other, and to go down reverse the wires. i used a pair of high amp 3 way toggle switches.
the rear window wires are on the center post, on the top posts are hot/ground, and on the bottom posts are ground/hot. no more crap to ever deal with again, and works great!
