Here is what I did in my 1st gen:
- http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...ow.shtml#Relay Basically tied the key and console switches together so that either work with the key off.

i bypassed everything cause my 90 4runner has a 96 tacoma wiring harness in it.
the rear window motor has 2 wires, to go up, send one 12 volts and ground the other, and to go down reverse the wires. i used a pair of high amp 3 way toggle switches. the rear window wires are on the center post, on the top posts are hot/ground, and on the bottom posts are ground/hot. no more crap to ever deal with again, and works great!
