Parking Light wire color - '95 4Runner
Hey all,
I got a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge that have different lighting color options for day / night operation. In order to utilize the night running color I need to connect a wire from the gauge harnesses into the parking light wire of the 4Runner. Can anyone tell me where the best place is to tap into the parking light wire behind the dash (oil pressure gauge will go in a mount about center dash and the boost gauge will go in a mount on the A-pillar) and what color(s) the parking light wire is? Thanks |

Just pull out the side marker light, and follow the eletrical connection. It emerges into the engine bay near the airbox IIRC.

Found it!
And the correct answer is (drum roll) . . . . . . . . . white with a red stripe!
located in the dash wiring harness up under the steering wheel. So the Prosport gauges are in and looking fantastic. Below are some pics of the results of my little project. Boost gauge is in the A-pillar and oil pressure is in the center dash next to the Apex boost controller. Here's one with the flash on ![]() Here's day running w/ gauges white (parking/head lights off) ![]() Here's night running w/ gauges red (parking/head lights on) ![]() So my "little" project 4runner is stepping closer to being done (is there any such thing). Took it this weekend for a rafting trip on the Methow river in Eastern WA. Drove like a champ there and back. Still a few engine tuning issues to resolve but I'm starting to get it really dialed in. |
