My thoughts on HID Lighting
Well i know there is a great deal of debating going on about HIDs and rather they are good or not or too bright or whatever, all of this debating made me rather cautious when i started thinking of updating my truck and i started taking a closer look at the defuser in the stock lenses and the way they were set up and threw light and i decided id go for it. if they were too bright i could put the bulbs in some off road lights. well i must say. I LOVE my HIDs. i spent a great deal of time making sure they were adjusted right because even high up in the runner i get flashed form some odd ball ricer in his honda with 1000k bulbs. I went with a kit form 70dollarhids.com because they were on this forum and the life time warranty on bulbs and ballasts. i got 6000k bulbs with 55watt ballasts and just the single low beam. we put the bi-xenons in the 5.0 and i hate them the hi is a ugly 2000k deep amber color. not worth the extra money since i can just put some off road lights to use as my hi beam. so i ordered my kit Feb 13 2009 and they took the money out feb 17 2009, well i got my kit march 16 2009 in a box that was post marked march 6. talk about fast processing. needless to say i was on the phone with them constantly trying to figure out where my kit was but they were no help. i called to tell them i finally got it and they informed me that they guy in charge of shipping last month was fired.(thats good to hear). got the kit installed them flipped on the light switch and nothing.. i was PISSED. but after some messing around i found out that the wires that plugged into the factory headlight harness were installed reversed in the plug for the kit.. thank fully the reversed polarity didnt fry the ballasts.. all said and done now i need some hid off road lights to even out the look
when informed that the kit was wired incorrectly and the time it took me to actually receive my product this is what 70dollarhids.com replied
"We cannot place the plugs in the right spot for all cars. Every manufacturer is different. We used to ship them with the wires not in the plugs at all but most people could not figure out what to do. I apologize foe the shipping delay, but we had to fire a person who screwed us up terribly last month."
I can understand not being able to put the wires in the correct spot for all cars. but there should be a note in the instructions that they "may" not be in the correct spot. i was ready to rip mine out and send them back for a refund.
all in all a great product tho. good quality wires too

Those look great. I would be affraid to drive here with those, though. I just got flashed the other day because someone thought my 50 watt off road lights were too bright (used to be 100, downgraded to 50 to replace my headlights) I think they were old, though.

I hate not having highs. But i plan on picking up some 6in or so offroad lights to use as highs. Havent gotten flashed yet in the runner. And the mustang has had them in for a few months with only a few flashes and no stops from the cops. Its more likely ill be stoped for my bumper hight than my lights.

I have some low/high beams in my supra. They're 6000K, and use a magnetic base to shift the bulb between low and high. The cut-off is great with a set of hella e-codes, and the high/low works well.
I paid about $180cad shipped a year or so back. They work awesome. I plan on picking up another set for my truck.
I also have 6000k fog lights in the supra. The cut-off on them is decent. There's some scatter, but 90% of the light shoots out in a low, wide beam. They're only about 6" off the ground, and recessed into the bumper, so any scattered light usually just hits the bumper. I have a picture of them, but I need to find it.
