I agree with 4Crawler. I had this same issue. Wish I read his write up before I bought a replacment switch column from the salvage yard.
![]() on the positive side my junk yard find still had all the white lettering on it so it looked like new when I replaced the switches.

I did mine in place, the trick is to follow the troubleshooting steps on the web page.

Mine just cut out sometimes randomly. It's wierd.

I had that same issue of cutting out randomly. I tore apart my steering column to get to the guts of the high beam on and off clicker. I found there was a build up of grease in there that was making the contact intermittent. I cleaned the thing out and I haven't had a problem since. I think there is a write up on it on YT but I couldn't find it.

Yep, they will do that, typical symptom of a dirty contact in the switch. Some time the contact will make and some time not.
