Cruise Control

I have a 1993 SR5 Manual Trans 210k miles. The Cruise control has not worked since I bought it. I have checked the clutch switch. It checked good. Anyone have any ideas? What normaly goes bad first?

I would think that it is more likely a vacuum leak that is preventing your cruise from working. Check the condition of the hoses going to the actuator, under the hood.

If the hoses are good, then I'd start looking at the electrical parts - fuse, relay, switches, cruise module, ect. If you don't already have a Factory Service Manual, now would be a good time to get one - they are a lifesaver for diagnosing problems.

Yep, clutch switch then vacuum, then check the ground connection, mine was down next the the CC module at the main cab ground point. Make sure the connector is on solid and if that is all OK, check the troubleshooting procedures in a Factory Service Manual.

I do have the original service manual. Hopefully I'll find the problem thanks. Do you know if 93's have a cruse indicator light?

There should be one in the lower part of the cluster guage, under the speedometer. It should come on when you hit the cruise switch on the steering wheel.
