blown fuse
my 85PU just recently started blowing my fuse for running lights/ dash lamp. i have not done anything electrical to it so i dunno why its started doing this. it blows everytime i put a new one in within 5 min or so, is there a way to trace why its blwing them? or how to i solve this?

The most likely reason is some insulation has worn off a wire somewhere, and it's contacting metal. Start by looking where the wires go throught he firewall, or into the front lights. It's not going to be very easy to find though.
One other thought if you have trailer wiring check that, it's a common place for shorts. |

Yes, start with anything like the trailer hookup and disconnect that. If the fuse still goes, you could try disconnecting other things on that circuit (like remove all the light bulbs, etc.) and see if the fuse still blows. If so, the problem is in the wiring or something still connected to that fuse. If not, put things back in one at a time until the fuse goes and the last thing that went in may be the issue. Could be even a shorted light bulb or something similar.
