Thumbs down Battery light question

My battery light on my 97 4runner reciently came on.I had the battery out for 2 days while I installed 2 new airbags and module, I put a new battery in and the alternator IS charging. I'm at a loss. It wasn't on before, just the airbag light but the bags and module took care of that.Could that be something that has to be reset? Thanks Bill

bring your question on over to 95 and up trucks/Runners - I don't know how to move it or if the moderators allow that or I would help you out

I am curious what controls that - could there be a fuse also to pull out and re-insert? You have the owners manual? Checked both fuse boxes?

If that light comes on it means your alt is going or the battery has a bad cell in it.

Get both checked by a qualified mechanic and NOT sears or autozone plz.

I check the alt. with a voltmeter and it seems to be putting out about 14 volts and I also pulled the + terminal with it running and it didn't die out, I also put a new battery in it and it starts fine and still no luck with the light.
