Bad wires going to knock sensor!!!
I recently changed the pigtail wires from the knock sensor..I didnt change the sensor itself as I have heard over and over again that its not likely to be the sensor, I do believe this to be true, i think the wires going from ecu to knock sensor connector hav a bad stretch in them... what i would like to know is....
1) Do I need special wire to rewire this?
2) is there any special proceedure?
3) can i cut and splice the bad section...or do i have to go all the way with it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I know these are very sensitive wires and that even the slightest resistance will trigger the code, I am not very experienced with wiring or electrical stuff, and I really miss my truck being able to get from 0-60 in less than an hour!!

A knock sensor deals with VERY low voltage, I'm sure you know. Make sure you use the same gauge wire but I don't recall ever seeing a specific wire for that application. Ensure clean wires, good soldering & heat shrink to prevent corrosion.

thanks for the tip. Upon further inspection, it appears i need a new harness(ecu side),the wires pull out very easily. gonna try a few yards to see if i can cut one off, any one know if this is something that can be ordered from toyota? Or approx, cost? and do u think this will solve my problem?
