To Whom it may concern, I have recently been confused by my wiring harness and why it did not seem to match a factory harness and why I kept asking questions about my neutral start switch and other functions. This relates to the fact that I am doing an EFI conversion on a 4runner with a manual transmission and using an auto wiring harness. So it turns out I had an epiphany today before I left work. I was looking at an ATX power connector for a computer (I work on computers) and realized that I'm using a continuity tester on pins on the wiring harness itself to figure out what functions go to what connector such as the NSS connector. Well what I realized is that I was comparing the face of my wiring connector to the pinout diagram for my ECU...and I was reading it as such...and it should be read as a mirror image. I haven't felt dumber than this in a long time. It all makes sense to me now. I sat in my garage for a matter of hours before this trying to figure out why I had all of the connectors measuring as ground and why what I knew was my knock sensor connector saying that it wasn't my knock sensor connector. Anyway...despite how stupid this made me feel, I'm kind of surprised that more people don't make this mistake. This is in fact my first 4runner and more-so my first experience with going this in depth with wiring etc. But hey, thanks for dealing with my dumbass! I'll be the first person to say I failed.

LOL I hate wiring! Its my least favorite part of the car...that being said, Im actally good at it (kinda like math, I hate it but im good at it!!).

It does take a big man to admit he is wrong or that he screwed up and like aviator said, you would have failed if you gave up, but you stayed with it!!
