4WD light not coming on: how to fix it

It's an 87 4wd pickup, the 4wd does work but the indicator light does not come on. Just trying to figure it out. What fuse/where for these and how do you check the bulbs in the indicator lights?
Thanks
Duane

The 4WD light is a true indicator of wether 4WD is active. Chances are, you've got a vacuum leak somewhere.

Do your lights come on when in reverse?

Stick your head underneath the truck and look at the right side of the transmission near the transfer case. The indicator light runs off a switch in that area - my wires torn, so my 4WD light has never come on Maybe one day I'll fix it...just don't see any reason to...
