lost my keys, now what

so today i am coming home from work (i work on campus so i dont drive) and when i pull out my keys to get in the house i notice the 1/2 with the truck keys is missing. retrace my path as best as i could but couldnt find them. i have a spare set but the alarm fob the buttons are missing, so i have to short it out using a paper clip more or less to get it to work.. real PITA. now my question is, if i get a new fob for it, can the change the code in the alarm so that the old missing fob doesnt work anymroe? i live in stockton (read armpit of CA) and would hate to have someone find the old keys and drive around till they find the truck. it is a Mid level (~$300) Viper alarm. any ideas?

for now i have pulled any thing worth money out of the truck (gps, ipod etc) and pulled the disributor wire. (slow them down at least) any other suggestions?

Yep, better you finding 'em in your jacket, than someone else finding 'em and being able to jack-it.

Is this an object lesson in alcoholism and drunk driving? If it was anyone but chris, I would say no...

Stop pushing the Q-tip into your ear when you feel resistance next time.
