AVITAL 2101 Keyless Entry System
Hi,
My key doesn't work on my driver side door anymore. So I decided to install a keyless entry system on my 97 SR5. I've done some research and come up with some conflicting results. I'm wondering if anyone know which of the following information is correct.
Looking at this thread in YotaTech, it is
BUT looking at this thread from "the12volt" forum,
Which one is correct?
Then I just need to tap the correct wire from the keyless entry system onto that wire, right? I am going to tap into the wiring harness on the arrow #1 in the attached image.
Lastly, on both threads they talk about
Is the mentioned 'ignition harness' #2 in the attached pic?
Thanks
Jim

I tinkered around a bit more last night.
If the above are connected in #1 harness, but not blue/white OR blue/yellow, they make clicking noise as I press on the lock button. Am I hearing the relay click? If so, shouldn't I connect it to here?

the needed ignition wire will be in the main ignition harness, in the steering column. The lock wires, should be down in the drivers side kick panel, and if not mistaken both are in the same plug.
