Alarm stopped Chriping
Hi,
New to the yota and after market alarms. Its an audiovox APS02BT2. A few days ago I disconnected the battery to clean the terminals. After that the alarm would no longer chirp when armed disarmed. The lights flash and the doors lock and unlock. How can I get the chirp back?
I downloaded the transmittor programming information from audiovox but it didn't work.
oh also I noticed that when the chirping stopped the red indicator light on the dash for the alarm always stays on.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Carlos

carlos, your alarm got put into " valet " mode somehow. different alarm systems have different ways to get the out of valet mode so i will list a few ways to try it.
1) find the valet button, its usually just a push switch and commonly placed in or behind the kick panel. put the key in the ignition and turn it to the accesory setting, then hit and hold the valet button until the light turns off.
2) open the drivers side door, on the remote press button 1, button 2, button 1. the light will go off when it is out of valet mode.
if one of those two dont work try doing a google search on your model alarm ( model number should be located on the brain box ) and try to find an owners manual. the manual will explain taking it out of valet mode.
good luck

ok did a search since im at work and bored, came up with this
Simple....
1st turn the ignition key on than off
2nd within 10 seconds press and release the valet button switch 3 times.
If you did it right you will hear 1 chirp to indicatate the chirps are back to irritate and ******** all your neighbors.. just kidding. good luck
