'99 Corolla alarm question

Hi all,

I had to get a new battery and now I can't stop the alarm or start the car. I'm hoping somebody here can tell me how to do that on my '99 Corolla...

can you be a little less vague? what type of alarm is it? aftermarket? factory? do you know what model it is?
