broken stuff

I just bought my 86' truck (not an SR5) it has the carb, extra cab 4 cyl. It has a few chips in the windshield, a broken mirror passenger side.

It might have to flat of springs in the back, how can I tell for sure?

lol. I have an 87 2wd pick-up. There are cracks in the dash, a pin hole leak in the radiator, like 20 various dents and dings and such all around the body and bumper, a cracked side to side windshield. The seat is garbage, the speakers are in ghetto cut out holes in the door, my stereo and amp were stolen and half of the wiring harness was sliced to ˟˟˟˟. Oh yeah and the exhaust rusted out after the Cat and pretty much fell out. Other than that I have rebuilt the engine and made it happy on the inside.

I am back from the dead.
I now have a 92 2WD DLX Xtracab. The seats are from a 4 runner and ripped on the sides, the dash has a small crack, the carpet is dirty, the windshield has one tiny chip, the vent lever button is missing, my cat converter is missing, the passenger side mirror is from my old 85 2WD that is now gone, the dome light mysteriously does nto work and the pastic cover crumbled into dust when i touched it, the passenger side tailight is cracked and being held together with weather resistant duct tape, the same lower corner of the bed is dented, my rare bumper is bent a little and rusty, my front skirt is dented on the passenger side, 90% of the emissions is missing, the paint is faded a little on the edge of the bed. It is actually the better looking of the 3 Yota trucks I have owned.

I've got 318,000 and a leak behind my head or block (half moon plug?), leaky front and rear diffs, leaky transfer case, trans that is shot and sounds like a screaming banshee, stuck front right caliper and leaking brake fluid, a crappy radio that somewhere has a slow power drain that kills my battery, only one working speaker, exhaust manifold leak and holes from down pipe to the muffler, creaking and old ball joints, torn up seats, no headliner and a broken spirit (mine).

But eff it! Gotta start somewhere.

I have a 1993 toyota pickup with the 22re motor. I am having problems keeping it running. I have done a full tune up (cap, rotor, plugs and wires). I also set the timing by pulling the valve cover off and rotating the crank with the mark set at zero degrees and verifying the cam mark was around 11:45/12:00 and put the distributor back in with the rotor button at the number one plug. When I start it up it still runs like crap after trying to time it but being unsuceessful with that as well. I have replaced just about every vacuum line and i even took some carb cleaner and sprayed the connections to check for change. I have cleaned the throttle body and mass air flow. I have messed with the air flow screw on the throttle body. I just cant seem to get it to run good at all. What should be my next step? Compression checks? anybody ever had this problem? I think i have multiple problems..

try checking and cleaning all the ground wire connections. I had the same problem and 2 of my injector connectors popped off, so its a good idea to check and make sure those are snuggled up tight.

Yeah dude I burned up one of my grounds when I touched a wrench to both battery terminals (what an idiot I am, eh?). The thing would run rough and die, or sometimes not start at all until finally I figured it out.

Oh, this sounds like a possible lead for a intermittent starting/running problem I'm having too!

I have beat my brains out trying to figure out a rough warm idle and nasty hot soak idle problem in my current truck.

Rust is usually ok until it gets to the frame unless you want a good looker. My problem is a oil leak. I cant get it clean enough to find it any suggestions? sorry to highjack the post

Where is it leaking from? engine top, bottom, front, rear, left, right?? go in the dark with a flashlight and you can see the reflection of where it is wet.
