Google

No, seriously, google it. Most of the used car sites have the general stats like wheelbase and curb weight

Lol... Yeah, I have but can't find anything where I can flip to different vehs. This is the best site I can find, but it lists GRVW.

http://www.top4runners.com/ja/runhist1.html

I don't think these trucks weigh over 5000lbs do they? I had read it was like 3800 to 4000?

Thanks guys, I found it under Kbb.com. You can compare. For example it says, a '98 Limited Runner auto, weighs 3940. A '00 SR5 Runner auto, weighs 3440. Too bad the oldest you can select is 1991, but that states a '91 2door auto 4Runner 4cyl weighs 3760 lbs.

86 runs about 3600# curb weight, stock. Took mine over the scales the other day for ordering springs. Empty with me in it was about 4100#, 2240# front axle, 1900# rear. I figure the bigger tires add about 100# and I'm another 190#, and the front bumper and winch are another 100# extra. I figure somewhere around 100# for armor, and about 50# for sound deadener, and 40# for recovery gear...

Hmm so do you guys think the kbb site is accurate? I mean a 2000 SR5 weighs 320lbs less than a 1991 Runner 22RE?

Sorry for the bump (rather bump than start new thread)
Any new insight on this?
Anyone measured their curb weight accurately stock? Modified?
I have an stock '88 Single Cab, 4cyl 4wd with steel wheels and tires are 235/75/15 currently (soon to change to aluminum Enkei w/31s)

I've googled it and not much conclusive evidence
Wikipedia says 2800lbs for 84-88 but doesn't say which trim/eng.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Hilux
This site says an '83 with 4wd is 2,975 - 3,065.
But doesn't say anything about 84-88.
http://www.toyoland.com/trucks/tacoma-hilux.html

I know I'm somewhere in the 2800-3200 lb range, but I'd like to know for sure.
Thanks.

Weighing in....

My 88 pickup 22R DLX (Xtra cab and extended bed) is listed with a gvw of 2875.

I took it to the scales in it's current condition and weighed in at 4160 (rack, cargo, bumpers, etc).

The smog shop reports that it weighs in at 4400 as of the last smog.

Don't know how the smog shop can possibly weigh the whole truck because only the rear wheels go on the dyno.

I'll have to ask next time.
