Warfield Off-Road Land Cruiser Storage Drawers review

I have wanted storage drawers for my 80 for a long time. I had an idea in my head and tried to build it out of wood I had laying around, but the top "deck" ended up being too thin to support much weight and it looked like crap.

When I saw Warfield Off-Road's system in this thread over on Mud I was surprised because they were almost exactly what I had pictured in my head. I decided to buy from him because his kits are reasonably priced DIY, can be made any height with many different drawer configurations, and he has a good reputation on this site for doing quality work.

I asked for mine to be a basic drawer kit that would sit level with the second row seats, folded down, so I could throw a mattress back there for camping. I also asked him to add flip up doors on the side wings so it was easier to access the jack storage and the space could be accessed with the tailgate up.

Warfield's kits are available in different finishes, but I wanted mine to be unfinished so I could apply DIY bed liner. I narrowed my choices down to Durabak and Grizzly Grip because of the colors they offer. Grizzly grip won because their colors looked better and they had a special running for a gallon plus a quart and applicator rollers. I got a gallon of Grizzly brown and a quart of Santa Fe brown thinking that mixing them would be close to the color of the interior. It’s a little darker than I thought it would be, but it looks good.

Overall I am very impressed with Warfield Off-Road's system. Everything went together easily and it is rock solid. He has excellent communication and responded quickly to any emailed questions or requests I had. He also sells his kits for different vehicles.

Here is a very good link to an install. His metal sub frames were a great idea for mounting it.
