Hell I just had my tranny remanufactured to the tune of $3200 plus change. Keep that thing. You obviously don't know what you have! Everytime I get mad at mine and start thinking about getting rid of it I go out and look it and go......nahhhhhhhh....and then i do something more to rebuild it just a little more. Sheesh youngsters these days.

u guys got it all Wrong....i absolutly love my 4runner....ive just abused the heck out of it..and it still keep coming back for more...ive never been around a car with 217k on the chassis that feels the same as it did when it 75k on it...im just in Awe of this thing...
the 3" was in reference to the length of the scratches....not the depth. and my parents only blessed me with a 3yr old 4runner cause dad went through a mid-life crisis and decided he wanted a Cobra and gave me the $runner.. i bought the eclipse like 8yrs ago... and im not spoiled...just been lucky enough to have worked my a$$ off to have learned something that payed well when i was a teenager... i just cant justify getting rid of it till the Transmission blows...till then ill keep driving it like i stole it!

So you'd rather the transmission blow instead of just selling it?

dude the most i could get for it around here is probably 2k...i dnt need to sell it. i just want to see how long it can hold up...my friend and i have bet my wife that that it ill go to 250-255k before it crapps out she says it willdo it at 235k...ive changed the most fluid as possible out of it in regular intervals for the last 25k so its being maintained now...and the sad part about it is that the only thing wrong with the car is that i have to polish and buff it after every 5car washes,to keep up the faded red paint looking kinda glossy!

Didn't save much face did he?
Look... If you are eventually going to get rid of it do it now while it is still drivable so you can get some money for it. Either that or keep on driving it like you stole and when you blow the transmission, PM me and I'll take it off your hands for you since it is basically trash then. BTW - most of us are just razzing you about this, but your perspective does dumbfound us all.

I think I made the little rich momma's boy mad.
Found in my PM Box Quote:
You seem like a SPOILED ROTTEN RICH BRAT, that gets anything and everything he wants all paid for by his parents, Some of us work hard to obtain the things in life we own, and would never dream of blowing up a perfectly good truck so momma can buy us a new one. You post on a forum of toyota loving and worshiping people about wanting to BLOW UP YOUR TRUCK so mommy and daddy can buy you a new one ? And than you think your not going to get RAZED about it ? grow up. HOW OLD ARE YOU ANYWAY ? 16 Last edited by 4Hummer; 06-07-2005 at 12:31 PM. |

Sell the thing to some one who actually cares. If you really want to kill the trans, drain all of the oil and drive around for a while, that might do it. But seriously, sell it to some one who will appreciate the vehicle and take care of it.

Indestructable Pick-Up
I just watched a show on the discovery channel called "Top Gear" and in one segment they purposely tried to kill a mid 80's Toyota pickup. They drove it into a tree, they tied it to a boat ramp and let the tide come in. But ropes snapped and it was lost at sea for about 5 hours, but the tide went down and they found it, flipped it back right side up, let every thing dry out, cleared the cylinders and it started up and they drove it off the beach. They then dropped it from a crane, ran it through a building, dropped a camper on it, hit it a couple of times with a wrecking ball, and FINALLY set it on fire!
Guess what, it still ran.

in the british version of the show they actually put it on top of a building that was being demolished and it still survived, the british version is much better
