Taco time?
I'm looking for some input. The frame on my 01 4Runner is on its way out. Just located and 06 Taco with 250+ on it and the asking price is 6 thousand. The body appears tight and records say its well taken care of. What do you think?

At that much mileage you say well taken care of just what all was done.
Not seeing the truck myself I think your going to have lots of maintenance work.
The 4x4`s I buy take at least a $1000.00 plus in just parts. If your payingfor labor things get expensive.
Go check it out .
also you don`t mention drive train at all is that not important??
It all depends some people look at the body and interior I look at the mechanical end of things.

Could be a decent purchase if its something youre interested in. Personally I'm not a fan of the '05+ Tacomas, at least not until they restyled it recently - even then it's still a larger midsize with plastic interior and a horrible view out the windshield compared to the previous gen trucks. I'd be looking for a <'04 Tacoma since it's the last year of compact body.

Bear in mind that although it has a chain it is not completely maintenance free. Chains stretch over time. In general we will recommend replacement at 300k including guides and tensioner. List to the engine at cold and hot starts for chain lash. Type and grade of oil along with oil change intervals affect the life of the chain and guides.
