Strange Noise on 2007 Double Cab Tacoma PreRunner

I have a 2007 Double Cab Prerunner Tacoma. I have just over 100,000 miles on it. In the last week, I have noticed a strange noise which seems to be coming from the passenger side front wheel. Not 100% sure, but its the best I can tell. It only makes the noise when I am driving and pressing the gas pedal. If I am coasting or at a stop, it doesnt make a sound. First it starts off as a squeak, then it goes to a clicking or metal on metal sound, then when I hit about 40mph, it starts to vibrate. Everything is fine when I brake. When I really have to give it some gas, it vibrates as well...up a hill or getting on the highway. I spoke to a buddy and he said it could be a CV joint or a wheel bearing. I don't know much about either of those parts. Anyone have another opinion on what it could be? Any help would be very much appreciated because I am lost.

Thanks

your truck is a prerunner so its 2x4, would not have a cv joint. wheel bearing or sticking pins on brake caliper would be my guess.

Thanks for the response. Looks like I will take it to a shop or dealership and see how much it will cost me. Any harm with driving on it in this condition for a few days?

that all depends on what it actually is. If you have to drive it keep an eye on it and make sure its not glowing red hot or getting noticeable worse. Me, I would jack it up and check it out, might be something simply.

Red face

Well depending just what it is the worst!!!! that will happen is that wheel comes off .

It is what happens after the wheel coming off that might get real expensive in truck repairs or medical bills.

Not really knowing the problem who can say.
