Noticable difference from small cam?
Well I was thinking since Im replacing timing chain, gear, tensioner and guides maybe swap a cam while I have it apart. With just exhaust and a header would a cam make a noticable difference? Or should I just hold off til I can afford a new motor. I was looking at the engnbldr.com RV cams 261 and 268 as well as the toyheadauto.com 260 cam. Vehicle is stock with 31's and is my daily driver.

The 261C will make a big difference, from what I understand. I have mine on order, but I am getting a new shortblock and their StreetRV head...
You should still notice a difference though.

I've got the 261*c cam, Can't tell you how much more the cam will do for you over the just the header and exhuast. I put all these these at the same time.
To install it you'll have to remove the head bolts and probably have to replace the head gasket. Which means pulling the head, So it'll most likely increase your work load significantly and down time. What kind of gas mileage are you getting? How many miles on your rib? Just putting this out for food for thought.

I have so far 700 miles on a recent rebuilt motor with a stock head,LCE headers and 2 1/4 exhaust pipes w/Borla muffler.Im having 21.5 mpg so far.Im using a Competition Cam 260S.Im running small tires 30 x 9.5 with 4:56 gears.Ive tried LCE,Downey & Engnbldr cams. This Comp cam is a pretty good one on the highway, great torque and quick accellaretion on the throttle. I would buy another on my next rebuilt.
