new diff....rtv sealant?

im putting a new rear diff in my truck, along with a new gasket, should i use any kind of rtv sealant?? if so, what surface should i be applyed on?

Yes, something like the ultra gray or black or Toyota orange FIPG or "The Right Stuff" is supposed to work well. Apply to one side or the other and let it set up for 15 minutes or so before installing the diff.

im not sure, but arent u supposed to apply to the removeable part? u should put it on the cover. its alot easier to clean wen u reseal it again.
