Yeah with any link to an FSM save to desktop since A) You never know how long it will be hosted and B) It's nicer for the "hoster"

Is there any way to get the part screens online like they have at the dealership? I often have the wrong part ordered for me, which is annoying.

Here you go www.toyodiy.com you can either enter your VIN or if you don't have that handy go throught the options manually. This is a world wide parts list so for fun you can select other regional options and see how the parts differ. Detail diagrams are included so you can check fitment of foreign market parts if you wanted to go that route. Prices for the parts are included in euros, yen and USD depending on region selected so you can check to see if the dealer is hosing you or not, but IDK how current the price list is.

I liked the idea of the online 93 fsm, but fear that the site may go down eventually prompted me to find a way to save it.
I copied the site to my hard drive and made an ".iso" file that you can download and burn to cd.
You should be able to right click the file after downloading it,...and burn the iso image with whatever cd / dvd burning software you have installed.
It has an "autorun" feature that should automatcally bring up the index page when the cd is inserted after burning.
Unless your pc has 'autorun' disabled, if so heres a link to explain how to re-enable it.
http://www.moonvalley.com/products/rwavdc/enable.htm

I have included a folder on the cd iso which contains Adobe Reader 8, in case it is needed on your pc to view the pdf's.
The .iso is roughly 59MB and I didn't have any space that large to host the file so I registered with a new free site that offers 2GB.
I had to use winzip to package the .iso since the file hosting space wouldn't allow hosting of .iso's. Hopefully this will work.
Heres the link to the zipped .iso:

Heres a cheesy cd jewel file made with Roxio.

This link is brilliant for finding parts on the car. I used it to find my starter relay, which was tucked back in the driver's footwell above the fusebox.

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/

It also provides part numbers for when dealing with clueless parts guys at the dealer, maybe autoparts stores as well (do they use Toyota part #s?).

Not generally in my experience but they might have a cross reference for some of the more commonly used toyota parts #s [like brake pads/rotors and the like] but it does'nt hurt to ask

That's the only one in this thread... check the stickied threads at the start of the 84-88 truck 84-89 4runner sections there may be another one... if you have the 3.0 you may have to use the 1990-+truck manual for engine info...

Yeah that should cover everything nicely... about the only differences between 88 and 89 4runners was cosmetic. They did not change til 90, the trucks however changed in 89 so make sure it is an 89 4runner book before you buy...
