top 3 reasons not to use lift blocks.
1.increases Axel wrap
2.ubolts always coming loose
3.looks dumb

One word... Leverage. Your move beatch!

Whats his reasoning that blocks are the bees knees? They offer:

No added wheel travel
No added flex
Decreased leaf spring life due to twisting
Increase axle wrap
They can break
Require long u-bolts that can snap
Will make your ride worse on a bad leaf pack, before they wreck the leaf pack itself...

Lift blocks?
I like to get 4 3" ones and then stack them giving me 12" of lift.

Lift blocks are worthless. I dont think I've ever seen a "true" trail truck/buggy using blocks. Ask someone who uses blocks if they have been off-road and see what they tell you.

lift blocks = poser ?

Hehe, silly chebby boy. Does he ride on the bumpstops?

You should just use his hood as a RTI ramp

I had a set and they BOTH split down the middle. Tilted the pinion up, ripped the drive shaft out of the truck, and the axle was cocked to the side since there was now a 2" gap between the ubolts and the axle. It bent the entire drive shaft so I had to replace it. Luckily this happened while I was pulling out of the shop. Had it happened on the highway or even the street, the rear end would have been ripped off the truck and I would have crashed.

Yup. Many times. I checked them before every trip too.

Sad thing is, when I first installed them, one of the cracked during installation. I should have known then they were crap. But the ones I had were junk, they were from autozone, and were made of crappy pot metal. If you get steel ones they should hold up a lot better. But still doesnt make them good, there are a bunch of other problems with them like axle wrap.

Lift Blocks? NO NO!!!

Springs are still the best way to look cool. Blocks tend to snap giving you more problem. Just tell your friend his suggestion is not good at all.

back in '89 I jumped my 80 wagoneer that had 3" blocks in the rear, 4 people in the truck. Hit a big jump, landed and ripped the drive shaft off, and cracked the output shaft. Limped home in FWD. Parked the truck in my drive way and gave it to buddy two years later. Never again will I own a blocked truck.
