Know Diesels? Got a Question.

Whats your take on this

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/1260695821.html

I dont know much about diesels OR efi. Would bad injectors cause a rough cold idle?
I would think the injectors or some controller could be tweaking and causing it to mix bad while cold?

What do you think

I'm not sure, but learning those 7.3L will be worth it. GREAT motor. I'm looking for the same thing, but only extended cab and short bed. Such sweet trucks.

Great trucks indeed. You see as many of those out hard at work as you do any brand new truck around here. That should tell you something right there.

the missing until warmed up isnt a injector issue it deals with inactive glow plugs. most glow plugs cost about 35 bucks a piece or so .. definitely should change all 8 at once. since verifying wich cylinder is bad is hard as hell to do.when the engine warms up it is able to preignite the diesel easier so the miss goes away

Talking

Just so you know those injectors alone can be quite expensive . real expensive if you need to pay some one else .

I had to replace 5 it has been awhile but I think the injectors were like $250.00 plus each plus the $150.00 valve cover gaskets that carry theglow plug wire harness.

I must say great truck

Glow plugs dont pre-ignite the fuel, they warm the mixture for starting purposes. The ignition of diesel fuel is from compressing the the fuel/air mixture to the point you get combustion.
