3800 for my 91 with 295 on the clock... plus another 6 for the rebuild due to a blown rod.
2000 for my 93 that seeps oil, and the odo doesn't work... still working on that problem

Bought mine in 2004 with just 52,000 original miles.
Still smells new inside!
I will just say that I have spent more on engine rebuilds, than I paid to buy the truck. Yes there have been problems, but I love my 1st Gen! The size and wheelbase is just perfect for me!
My current engine has a 5 year warranty. If it ever dies, I want to figure out how to stuff a diesel in it.
My 3.0 is running great .....today!....

The 93 I paid $7,000 about 8 years aho....maybe 9 now...it had just under 100k, and was in mint condition.
The 94 I paid $600 for 2yrs ago, it had 200k on it, and needed a rear bumper, and balljoints..... this one was by far the best deal I ever got on a vehicle...I drove it home, and still drive it every day....it now has almost 250k

Oh ya... and its not a 4runner, but I got my 91 p/u for free! well sorta...I had to do a motor swap on a boat for a bud of mine, and he told me if I could get the truck home , it was mine!.....It was a mess when I got to it, the starter was cooked, the rear brake lines were rotted, the fuel lines were rotted in one spot, and the body needed a ton of tlc to make it road worthy..... I got under it, and clamped the rear brake lines to keep them from leaking, and put some rubber hose(double clamped) for the fuel lines(it still has these rubber lines today...never have leaked a drop), then had a bud pull me to get the truck rolling, and popped the clutch, and drove it home!
