Wow, i could have added this to the seafoam thread, but my seafoam experience deserved its own thread. I only put about 1/3 of the can through my brake booster line then turned the truck off. we let it sit for about 10 minutes. turned it on, and holy smokes! I've never seen so much smoke! I ran it for about 10 minutes and it was still coming out pretty steady, but it had reduced overall. It ran much smoother too.

I seafoamed it again with the rest of the can. I got most of it in there, but it stalled just before i got to the end. I cant wait to see it tomorrow morning.

was this on the 95 or 85? how do you put seafoam through the break booster? i never figured that out.

You disconnect the vacuum line from the brake booster, the other end of the hose runs off the engine. It will suck up the seafoam and bring it through the intake.

I used the vaccuum line going from the intake to the valve cover and didn't get any smoke...

And which side did you disconnect? i.e., did you pour SeaFoam into the intake or the crankcase?

whoo hoo! man, my neighborhood was VERY smogy for about 20 minutes. I've never seen so much crap come out from somewhere. this was on my 85. I also now know that i have a major exhaust leak on cyl. # 3 or 4, and the water pump is leaking.

I have a TRD PCV catch can that I bought for my Supra, but it's too big to fit anywhere under the hood. I think I'll throw it on the 4Runner, run some seafoam through it and the combustion chambers will stay clean forever!

In some circles, it's seen that routing the PCV "output" back into the intake doesn't do a lot of good, and in fact it just shoots oily goop back down into the intake. So, what you do is use a "catch can" which replaces the intake tube as the output of the valve. The can will catch all the goop and the intake stays clean.

A couple of folks here have tried a mid-line to this which is to replace the PCV valve with a PCV breather (basically just a filtered vent to the outside) and didn't really see a lot of benefit. The 3.4L engine just doesn't spit a lot of crap like others do.
