All that I am going to use the compressor for is airing tires. Pneumatic are not in the pictures yet.

The Q compressors are indeed at Costco for $49. They work pretty decent for the price - but get D*** hot after airing up 4 tires.
I mentioned this in another thread: the power leads have the cheapest crimps I have ever seen in my life. The first one I had shorted out inside because the crimp came loose. That was the first time I used it - and I was on the trail. I returned it and when I got my new one, I took the 4 allen bolts off the plastic end with the switch and replaced the two crimps inside. Its worked fine since. BTW, a 50cal ammo can is a perfect case.

They've been carring them for a while actually. Since last year anyway.

I bought one a while back. I was skeptical but I can air my 37's from 12psi to 30 in 4.5 minutes at 6500 feet. That's pretty damn impressive for a $50 compressor. Great idea on the ammo can. I just scored one the other day and was wondering what to use it for. Mine get's really hot right where the hose attaches. I usually have a bottle of water on hand and just pour some on there at some point on each tire to cool it off. The heat doesn't seem to hurt anything but it's a pain to get to hose off right after you shut it down because it's so hot.

I notice that too. One thing i did was remove the plastic muffler. It's louder but seems to help a little by expelling more heat. Unfortunately, that got me thinking about adding a "Type-R" muffler (air breather) lol ..i think i'll do it just for fun.

BTW.... I love those old ammo boxes, I used to find all sorts of uses for them in my previous wheelin' days.

Ebay has them the lowest bid is $5.00 and the shipping to my address is $14.00. You could probably bid $25.00 and get them for under $40.00. Maybe even less. It says it will last for 100's of hours if it takes 4 minutes per tire to inflate how many times can you use it for $50.00. Alot.
