differential breather
Ive got a bit of neat info to share, to prevent the possiabilty of drawing in water inside your diff, from the stock vent cover, there is a nissan breather that has a long stem that you could easily secure a 7/32 inch hose too, place the hose up out of the water line--like secure it to upper frame exc, my front is run into the engine compartment. the part number is 38323-c6010, in my part of the country its mainly works to keep out sand and fine dirt.

Welcome to YT! That is a great mod, and there is a fantastic writeup in the "TECH" section. What part of the country are you from?

Yeah this is a great "peace of mind" kind of mod. I've done it on many a 4Runners before.
A lot of guys who extend the diff breather on the rear axle, run the tube up to the gas tank filler neck and tuck the breather right next to the filler cap.
Oh and welcome to YT!
